Cooking

Hi !
We're Victoire, Anaëlle and Quittrie, three friends who love cooking, that's why we wanted to show you some French recipes ! French cooking is revered by everyone (we all know that you dream about it). So we have decided to share our experience with you (even if it's quite basic) and to make you become a real « Français » !

Recipe of the « Charlotte » :

500g of strawberries
100g of strawberries for decoration
25cl of milk
35cl of single cream
1 vanilla pod
4 eggs
6 table spoons of sugar
1 tea spoon of maizena (or of starch)
4 gelatin sheets (that is 8g), put soaking into some cold water
1 box of sponge fingers
Whipped spray cream for decoration

Preparation :

Begin by making the side dish of the charlotte :
Stir in the boiling milk and the split vanilla pod, cover and let infuse
Whip egg yolks with 3 table spoons of sugar to obtain a white foam
Incorporate the maizena, then the warm milk
Put back all the ingredients back in the pan and thicken on a low heat, without letting it boil
Remove from the heat, add the pressed gelatin, mixing it so that it dissolves perfectly, then let it cool.
Whip the fresh cream, adding 3 table spoons of sugar in the course of the operation.
Incorporate this whipped cream into the vanilla cream.

Finally, proceed to the assembly of the « charlotte » :

Find a mould for « charlotte » made of plastic film (or aluminium)
Mix the pieces of strawberries in the middle of the cream side of the dish.
Pour ½ of the side dish without the strawberries into the mould, cover with a coat of biscuits, put in the side dish with the strawberries.
Compress the dish slightly using a plate.
Let the charlotte rest in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
At the time of serving, turn the charlotte out of the tin and decorate it with the remaining strawberries and with the whipped cream.
